Making the decision easier November 30, 2006

Filed under: Nanny diaries — gallopingcats @ 8:40 pm

L showed up an hour late this morning. Since I had a feeling she’d be late (long story), I held A hostage until she arrived, under the "this can’t be only my problem" clause. He said, "But I have a meeting!" And I said, "Me, too!" and then he paced the house until she arrived.

I was up in my office talking on the phone when she arrived, and I was shocked to hear words were actually exchanged! Apparently he made her cry, which actually shocks me because he never seems to get angry at anyone besides me or drivers who cut him off. He didn’t even say anything to L when she arrived on Tuesday sans explanation or apology for Monday. Is it because only I was inconvenienced on Monday?

I am starting to think, though, that for whatever reason, she actually wants to be fired. I still feel completely sick and stressed out about it, though.

    No show on Monday.
    No apology on Tuesday.
    Late on Thursday.

Yes, it seems she wants to by fired. Perhaps she’s planning to quit. Of course that would be *after* the Holiday Bonus (if you give one).

I’m so sorry that you have this stressful event looming. I think you’re right to involve A. It isn’t just your problem. Together it may be just a tad bit easier to cope.

Let us know how it goes with the others tomorrow.

I think that you’re perfectly right to involve A. Often George doesn’t “get” things until he’s inconvienced and then he “gets” them right away.

  6. I think she probably wants to be fired too. Hoping this whole thing gets resolved with bandaid ripping swiftness.

Yeah, she probably does want to be fired. Wouldn’t it be nice if people could just take action instead of acting out!
