Six

Here are the rules to the game:
1) Link to the person that tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
4) Tag at least 3 people at the end of your post and link to their blogs.
5) Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6) Let the fun begin!
You can call this the vanity edition:
1) My new colleagues are about 500 times more fashionable than my old ones. I love the ideas and the inspiration, but my wardrobe needs a complete overhaul, which is why I hope someone is currently secretly filming me for What Not to Wear.
2) I am so lazy that it took me a year to get my unique, one-of-a-kind watch, which I love and which was made by a metal artist who used to have a store in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn fixed when the movement stopped working. A week after I got it back last month, the bracelet broke and I have yet to bring it in for repair.
3) I have gained back four of the ten pounds I lost last year, which was enough to push me from a size 8 to a 10, and I don’t like it. I signed up for WW online again earlier this week and lost a pound, but am already having trouble getting motivated to stick with the program.
4) I have a hard time buying shoes because I take to heart what my mother always told me: It’s hard to smile when your feet hurt.
5) Not true for bags. I am always craving something new, though I haven’t loved the hardware-heavy styles of the past couple of years. At the moment, I am eyeing this laptop bag in orange, but talk about an unnecessary expense, especially since I already have a nice bag and (per #1) need a whole new wardrobe.
6) I waited too long to get my hair cut and my stylist told me yesterday not to let it get so long because it looked ratty! But he complimented me on my bag, a red Furla from 2004ish that I had just pulled out of my closet. I love that now that Gatito is a toddler, I only need a bag big enough for a couple of diapers and some wipes.
I’m tagging some of my newer readers/commenters: Sarah, Hydrogeek, and April.
I’m always taking hints for a particularly stylish friend of mine. She’s sort of like my own personal style consultant and knows if given the option I’d live in yoga pants and sweatshirts.
If you want a WW buddy I’m also signed up online and on a mission to lose 10-15 before IVF in June. It is really (really!!!) hard for me to stay on track. 18 points just isn’t that much food! I’ve been working out almost every day and that adds 4-6 points to my allowance which helps a lot. I just found a 5-point sandwich recipe that’s super easy and delish too. I had to guess on ounces the first time I made it so yesterday I bought a food scale and WOW! I was off on my guessing … I had twice as much ham and cheese on today’s sandwich. Do you have a scale? I know it’s sort of obsessive but I’m loosely following The Zone with my WW diet to increase my athletic performance as well as drop fat quickly. Good luck with your efforts! I know you can do it!
Maybe we can pitch ourselves as “blog buddies” to the What Not To Wear folks: “Watch as Stacy and Clinton help two friends who’ve never met look their best for their dramatic first meeting….Next week on TLC!”
(And my hair guy is always commenting on how long I let my hair go between appointments. He lives nearby so I run into him from time to time, and more often then not, I wind up covering my head and saying, “Don’t look at me!” Fortunately, it’s still hat weather–phew!)
I just read a few posts back and saw I am famous!!! I am so thrilled that something good came of something I said for once in my life!!
And BTW, the blog buddy idea for WNTW is absolutely brilliant!!!! I applaud those of you that could handle the experience. I frequently warn my friends and coworkers that although I AM in need of the experts on the show I positively will NOT be humiliated for a mere 5K so they had best not nominate me (if the show evers offers 100K I’d consider it). I feel those around me need to hear this on a regular basis as I imagine as I walk down the hall at work people are thinking to themselves, “SHE needs Stacy and Clinton”
But we could all pitch in my nominating those of you here that want to be nominated. Go ahead, throw your “hats” into the ring, publish your info and we’ll nominate!!
