Planning

May 11, 2008

I forgot about the part of trying to conceive in which you are reluctant to make plans because you don’t know if and when you are going to get knocked up. So in the spirit of Caro, who used to buy new pants monthly when she was trying to conceive, I’m just going to try to ignore the trying to conceive stuff as much as possible.

Last week, I bought a pair of slim-fitting pants on sale at J.Crew, and today I signed up for a working women’s tennis clinic*, which starts next Tuesday. I figure, let the fact that I’ve wasted some money on pants that don’t fit or tennis lessons I can’t take be my biggest problem.

* I haven’t played since high school. Aiiii! (And I’ll be using my racket from high school– from freshman year of high school– too!)

  1. Awesome. Worst case, you’ll end up with a terrific wardrobe and mad tennis skills. (Are you saying you wouldn’t be the type to flit through pregnancy, squeezing OB appointments in between tennis matches and training for your next marathon?)

  2. Very healthy attitude! *cue assvice* You know a watched pot never boils! (I am watching my pot like a hawk, a hungry hawk)

  3. there is nothing worse for TTC than putting your life on hold for it. If you do get pregnant, you’ll fit into the skinny jeans in due time.

  4. That’s the fastest way I can think of to get knocked up!

The month I got pregnant with Brody, I had bought 4 new dresses and a bunch of summer clothes (it was May)… which I only got to wear for 3 months before they were too small.

  5. Girl, I have purchased waaaayyy too many smaller sized golf clothes this spring. I very much hope I can’t wear them by fall :)

  6. All I had to do was mention to my husband how nice it was going to be to NOT be pregnant for a summer (the first one miscarried, then I had the second one in August), since I’ve been pregnant for the last two. Guess what? I got a surprise Mother’s Day present!
